BSc(Hons),HCPC Paramedic, ILS Instructor
After leaving school with no real qualifications, I started on a YTS scheme that saw me learning animal care which led to a placement in a veterinary practice and eventually after further training qualifying as a veterinary nurse. I was 1 of only 17 male vet nurses in the country at the time.
This career sparked my interest in medicine and after moving to London for work, a chance meeting gave me an opportunity to change tack and join London Ambulance Service in 1996 and train to became a Paramedic.
In 1999, I moved back to my native Wirral and joined Mersey Regional Ambulance Service (now North West Ambulance Service) where I still work as a Paramedic part time on frontline Emergency Ambulances within Merseyside and Cheshire. The rest of the time passing on my own knowledge and experiences teaching others valuable life saving skills.
I currently live in North Wales with my long term partner, two young sons and a house full of animals.

DipHE, HCPC Paramedic, Mental Health First Aid Instructor
Like Neil, I am a Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) registered Paramedic with over 30 year’s front line emergency care experience.
Initially joining the Ambulance Service in 1992 on Patient Transport Service duties supporting the elderly, then in 1994 he secured a position as an Emergency Medical Technician within the then Derbyshire Ambulance Service, working throughout the high peaks area of Buxton.
Returning to the Northwest in 1999, I completed my Paramedic training . During my career i have worked in several specialist roles including a 'treat and refer' Paramedic on Rapid Response cars within the Cheshire and Wirral area. I also spent some time as a specialist paramedic in our ambulance operations control, assessing emergency calls over the phone, ensuring patients receive the right care.
I live in North Wales as well, with my long term partner and teenage daughter.
